ISTS 2025 | Huawei releases AI innovation achievements in road traffic

During the 2025 International Smart Transportation Symposium (ISTS) in Shenzhen, China, Huawei released its innovative achievements in road traffic AI. More than 500 guests from various sectors of global transportation, industry, academia, and research attended the conference to discuss global transportation innovation cooperation.

Safety, efficiency, and service experience are challenges for the sustainable and common development of global road traffic. Sun Tao, Vice President of Huawei's Transportation Intelligence Corps and Head of Marketing and Solution Sales Department, gave a keynote speech. He pointed out that Huawei, starting from assisting the development and innovation of the global transportation industry, combines "point (hub node) - line (network channel) - surface (travel as a service and modern logistics supply chain system) - body (comprehensive three-dimensional transportation)", collaborates with customers and partners to build a full stack collaborative "intelligent perception - intelligent connection - intelligent platform - intelligent application" big transportation and logistics digital intelligence base. In response to the demand for safe and smooth urban road traffic and intercity highways, we will integrate key technologies and business scenarios of digital intelligence infrastructure, continuously improve channel capacity, cultivate and develop channel economy, and ensure the safety of digital intelligence channels.

The extensive and deep application of big data and artificial intelligence technology has promoted the development of intelligent transportation to a higher level and a wider range of fields. In recent years, Huawei has collaborated with industry partners to deeply integrate AI capabilities around core pain points in urban traffic management, bus operations, highway and ordinary road operations, and comprehensive traffic management services. We have developed solutions such as intelligent information control for urban transportation, intelligent scheduling and dispatching for public transportation, intelligent expansion of trunk roads, safety detection for ordinary roads, and integrated coordinated command for comprehensive transportation. These solutions have been implemented in multiple locations, effectively improving operational safety, management efficiency, and service levels.

As of now, Huawei's products and solutions have served over 200000 kilometers of road networks and smart transportation construction in more than 70 cities worldwide. In the era of intelligence, Huawei will continue to focus on digital infrastructure, adhere to global open innovation cooperation, and enable AI to benefit more roads and safeguard safe travel.
